Caged In - a film about Domestic Violence

16 Nov, 2016

We are pleased to be sponsoring a charity fundraising screening of Caged In, an award winning film about domestic violence.

All proceeds from the night will be donated to Starick - a refuge and support centre for women and children who have been affected by domestic violence.

Starick’s services include two refuges for women with children, Counselling, supported community housing, court support, advocacy, children’s programs, community outreach services and an Op Shop.

Relationships WA welcomes an enhanced community awareness of domestic violence and its significant consequences. Australian Bureau of Statistics figures showed that one in three women over the age of 15 has experienced physical violence, while one in six has experienced physical or sexual violence from a current or former partner.

We offer a range of evidence‐based family safety and domestic violence programs for women and children who have experienced domestic violence in their families and programs for men who have perpetrated domestic violence. Our Djinda program works alongside the Women’s Law Centre to provide services to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in the Perth metropolitan area who have been affected by family violence.
