We are proud to be sponsoring the first 'Because of Her, We Can' conference at Crown Perth on Friday August 17. This free event is a beautiful celebration of the journeys, support and strength of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island women. 

The event is for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women aged 18 years and over, and is an opportunity to come together to recognise the achievements and contribution they make to our community.  On the day you will hear inspirational Aboriginal speakers including Key Note Speaker Yamaji woman Gail Allison, finalist in the 2018 West Australian of the Year Awards for her decades of service the long-term strengthening of Aboriginal communities, and interesting panel discussions.You will also discover new information about services and businesses in the community and to showcase entrepreneurs.

Guests will also enjoy traditional entertainment including by one of Australia’s most successful performers Christine Anu whose career spans more than two decades including music, theatre, dance, film and television and public speaking. A multi-award winning recording artist, including three ARIA awards, Christine has toured nationally and internationally and performed at many important events. 

Gina Williams will perform songs from her latest album, Kalyakoorl (meaning forever’’) in the rare and beautiful Noongar language, supported by Guy Ghouse. The Merindas, Australia's premier Indigenous female Motown and Soul duo, will also be performing.

Fabulous fashion from Kirrikin Summer will light up the runway led by top model Samantha Harris supported by local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander models. Following the NAIDOC theme “Because of Her, We can”, the event will celebrate the contribution of Aboriginal women. Also included in this FREE event will be delicious Aboriginal inspired refreshments. An event not to be missed!
