2015 WA Father of the Year Award

06 Jul, 2015

After a very successful year in 2014, the second Western Australian Father of the Year Award is now open for nominations.

The winner will be announced at a ceremony to be held close to Father’s Day in September. The aim of the award is to recognise fathers that have made family a priority, while balancing a career and community involvement and to celebrate the significant role fathers play in their children’s lives and to share their success with the wider community in WA.

The award will publicly acknowledge the enormous contribution that fathers and father figures make in shaping Australia’s future through their role in raising children to help them realise their full potential. It is hoped that this recognition will encourage more fathers to be actively involved in their children’s lives.

Nominations are encouraged for all fathers or father figures - they do not need to be celebrities or community leaders or similar. The 2015 WA Father of the Year will receive a travel package to the value of $3000 and a trophy to be presented at an awards evening

The award is being coordinated through a collaboration of some of Western Australia’s leading parenting and men’s health agencies including MAN healthier directions for males, The Fathering Project, Dads WA at Ngala and Meerilinga.

To nominate a father or father figure please visit the WA Father of the Year website here. Nominations close Friday July 31.
